Parupu Usili (Dhal and Beans)

This is a traditional South Indian dish. There is a widespread opinion that there is a very tedious and complicated process to prepare it but it is just the opposite.
The dish is extremely high in protein with almost no fat.

Ingredients
1 cup Channa dhal
2 cups Beans
2-3 Red chillies
1 tsp Asafotida
1/2 tsp tumeric powder
salt to taste

How to make?
  1. Soak the channa dhal and red chilli for two hours
  2. Grind soaked channa and red chilli coarsly
  3. Add 2 tb spoon oil add mustard seeds and grounded mixture
  4. Allow the dhal to cook for 10 min till the color changes and it separates itself
  5. Boil the beans and set side
  6. Add salt, asafotida and little tumeric powder in the dhal
  7. Add boiled beans and stir for tow min
  8. Dish is ready to serve with rice or chapathi
